US Singer Toni Braxton Recovering At Home After Lupus Hospitalisation

Toni Braxton is resting at home after a spell in hospital over the weekend after suffering from Lupus complications.

The singer, who has been battling the autoimmune disease for years, spent four days in a Los Angeles hospital but has reportedly now been discharged.

Braxton’s spokesperson Maureen O’Connor told AP that Unbreak My Heart star is “resting at home and is fine” after being treated at a Los Angeles hospital on Monday (Oct 3).

Toni’s younger sister Tamar Braxton also shared a video of Toni and confirmed that she’s at home.

“I absolutely HATE when she is sick,” the concerned sister said.

Braxton, who first revealed she was suffering from lupus in 2010, recently spoke about how she manages it, telling The Huffington Post: “Some days I can’t balance it all. I just have to lay in bed.

“Pretty much when you have lupus you feel like you have the flu every day. But some days you get through it. But for me, if I’m not feeling well, I tend to tell my kids, ‘Oh mommy’s just going to relax in bed today.’ I kind of take it easy.”

Actor and TV host Nick Cannon, who also suffers from Lupus, sent love to Braxton on social media after hearing about her hospitalisation.

He wrote on Instagram: “Sending love and strength to My fellow #LupusWarrior @tonibraxton The Queen is back!! We can’t never let this diagnosed condition stop our mission!! We just had a long fellowship and she is at home now, preparing to hit the road for her fans.

“I get these type of setbacks all the time but it just makes us stronger against this invisible disease! But the queen is more than a conqueror! No sweat! By his stripes you are healed! Now go give the people what they want!! A fabulous show!”
