Prince And Delilah — In Love
RUMOURS ARE circulating that Prince is dating British singer-songwriter Delilah after he discovered her on YouTube.
According to a recent report Prince was blown away by the Hackney-born star – real name Paloma Stoecker and invited the singer on the Australian leg of his tour two years ago.
Delilah who released her debut album From The Roots Up in 2012, recently addressed her friendship with the pop legend.
She said: “Prince called and said he was a fan of my work and invited me on tour. It was amazing.”
The 23-year-old added that Prince was “perfectly down to earth” and that they “hung out together. He’s a lovely person and we get along.”
A spokesperson for Prince recently dismissed the dating rumours, saying: “Delilah is a friend of everyone in the band and everyone loves spending time with her.”
However, an insider told the paper: “Delilah is talented and gorgeous and it’s little wonder Prince is so smitten with her.
“They have always been close but things have moved on recently.”
Prince has been playing a number of impromptu gigs in London with his all female band 3rd Eye Girl charging just £10 per ticket.
However, he recently came under fire after increasing tickets prices to £70 for his show at Ronnie Scott’s, Soho on Monday night (Feb 17), where Delilah was spotted in the audience.
The 55-year-old is expected to play two secret venues in Manchester later this week.
Last night, the star presented the award for best British female at the 2014 Brit Awards held at London’s O2 Arena.
He told the audience: “I remember this place. Thank you London so much for showing up.
“London I want to thank you for making us feel so extra loved here.”
