Legendary Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola revealed that marrying Mariah Carey was a huge mistake that everyone including his children from his first marriage could see – except him.
“It was absolutely wrong and inappropriate for me to become involved with Mariah.” Mottola,64 reveals in his new memoir, Hitmaker: The Man And His Music. “I should have listened to the piercing voice of my shrink and maintained my distance.”
Mottola was 40 years old and Mariah was nearly 20 when they met in the late 80’s, but it was love at first sight. ” I thought,’life is short. This is what I feel.” he said. ” I went off with Mariah without thinking about the possible repercussions.”
