TV HOST Barbara Walters sat down with rapper P Diddy recently and questioned the multi-million dollar star about fathering six children out of wedlock.

  The outspoken presenter grilled the 41-year-old on popular TV show, The View asking: “You have, that we know about, three women who you were close to because you have six children – that’s a lot of kids. The twins are old enough to say, ‘Daddy, why didn’t you marry Mummy?’ Is that not enough for you to want to get more seriously involved? What’s your trouble?”

  After stumbling over his response for a few moments Diddy replied: “The reason why I’m not married yet… I don’t have the exact reason! Some things in life you don’t have the exact reasons for. I know that I haven’t been ready.

 “I know that there are some other reasons in my life, my father was killed when I was three and my mother was a very strong woman. She said, ‘I love your father and I’m not going to have any other guys around.’ I never got to see the way a family lived.” He said

  He was quick to defend his comment, adding: “…but I’m not making any excuses, I’m just giving you my background.”

  Diddy, real name Sean Combs, has three boys – he is the informal stepfather of the eldest boy – and three girls with high school sweetheart, designer Misa Hylton–Brim, model Kim Porter and Sarah Chapman, mother to four-year-old daughter Chance, who he only took legal responsibility for in 2007.

  He said: “My history and my story with the women I’ve had children with – I met them all in the same year and we became friends. At different times in my life as my heart got broken by one, I cried on the shoulder of another. It wasn’t at the same time”

  Diddy, who is currently rumoured to be in a relationship with singer Cassie, said that each of the women deserved to have a ring placed on their finger by him. He said: “I think that every woman that I was with, that I had a child with, they did deserve for me to marry them, but there were things going on in my life.”
