Lord Glenconner who passed away in St Lucia last weekend was given a state funeral today in the popular Caribbean island. The peer who was 83, died after succumbing to cancer at his estate in Morne La Croix.

 

Mourners  included  St Lucian prime minister Stephenson King, Nicolas Cage, Brian Adams, his wife Lady Anne Coke who was princess Margaret’s lady-in-waiting, his surviving children and grandson Cody,16, who is the new Baron Glenconner. “The whole family flew  in from Britain to be here for this sad occassion.” said an inside source.

 

The funeral was  held in the village of Choiseul, on St Lucia’s south-west coast. Local MP and foreign secretary Rufus Bousquet  delivered a  few words on the late Scottish nobleman’s behalf. His illegitimate son Joshua Bowler,54,  was in the crowd of mourners. He was recently discovered by Lord Glenconner, after a DNA test.

 

“One of Tennant’s requests was that Brian Adams sing at his funeral and he did.” said a family source.
