Sir Richard Branson Names Aircraft After Rapper

Toronto rapper Aubrey “Drake” Graham has become the first hip-hop artist to have a commercial airplane named after him, cementing his newly minted role as international star and Canadian ambassador.

This was part of a celebration of Virgin America’s inaugural flight from San Francisco to Toronto which had Sir Richard Branson, Drake, and some of Drake’s fans onboard.  The flights will originate from Los Angeles (LAX) through San Francisco to Toronto starting at $199 each way.

Drake has become an international phenomenon just two weeks after his debut album, ‘Thank Me Later,’ which topped the charts in both the US and Canada (it sold over 500,000 copies in the States alone).
