US And Colombia Nabs Drug Kingpins

American anti-narcotics officials, in collaboration with Colombian security authorities, have brought down one of the largest drug cartels in the world after a series of raids across the country led them to the group’s leaders.

Two major drug kingpins, ‘Don Lucho’ in Colonia and ‘Don Caludio’ in Argentina, were arrested, along with scores of lower-level operatives, in a major offensive aimed at disrupting the supply of hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin into the United States.

The drugs bust will have ramifications on the drug supply to many other countries across the world. According to agents involved in the mission, Operation Pacific Rim, brought down a drug cartel that supplied drugs to every single populated region of the world.

The cartel is estimated to have made profits in the region of $5 billion, which is about the same kind of profit being generated by a corporation like AT&T or Google.

The gang supplied the US with half the illegal drugs consumed each year, this market alone was worth $23 billion to the cartel.

They processed and refined the drugs in jungle labs and then transported the finished product all over the world using a fleet of submarines.

The operation started last September and marks a culmination of several months of investigations, espionage and arrests involving hundreds of officials.
