British popstar David Bowie has bought a property on the Caribbean island of St Lucia. The singer who already owns a property on the nearby island of Mustique is planning to move to the popular isle after purchasing a three bedroom villa between St Lucia’s famous landmarks, the pitons.
A source close to the star who is married to American-bred supermodel Iman tells AfroSaxonHeat that Bowie have always wanted to have a house in St Lucia. “He likes St Lucia very much. He likes the nice greenery and lovely twin peaks from where you will find some of the most breathtaking views on earth.” Said the island source. “His old friend Colin Tennant lives out there and he can always go over for a chat.”
The villa is situated in Jalousie, a stone’s throw from the Iconic landmarks which has been designated a World Heritage Sight by UNESCO. There are other villas on sale nearby and AfroSaxonHeat understands that quite a few big names are snapping up their fair share of real estate.
Celebs who have bought include Oprah Winfrey, who is often seen on the island and Hollywood A-lister Denzil Washington.
The source who spoke to AfroSaxonHeat exclusively said: “David Bowie, likes the area and the local people. He is in a prime location and it is where everything is happening at the moment. It’s where all the celebs are buying up to get away from it all.” said the source who also reveals that England footballer Sol Campbell was in the process of buying something out there but the deal fell through.
He adds ” It’s lush green and has splendid views. Bowie likes the place and it should be a home away from home for him and Iman.”
