Oprah Winfrey Comes To Lady Gaga’s Rescue—From Bentee Banque, In Los Angeles ; Exclusive

Chat-show queen Oprah Winfrey came to lady Gaga’s rescue after she suffered a meltdown during the annual costume institute gala in New York—by locking herself in her dressing room and curling up on a sofa and refusing to take to the stage.

The American pop superstar would not budge —until Oprah rushed to her rescue. The talk queen was allowed into her room, where she held a prayer session with the 24-year-old-performer and finally got her to come out.

“It seems it was a case of too much fame, too early and too fast.” said an insider who spoke to AfroSaxonHeat exclusively from the Big Apple. “Lady Gaga had a complete breakdown at the gala and it’s fair to say that Oprah was there for her and helped get her back to some semblence of normality.”

Gaga, who shot to fame in the last year, selling almost 12 million albums and is widely seen as one of the world’s most influential people was clearly having trouble adjusting to her new found  super-stardom.

“Several friends tried to coax her out, but she would not move. She was suppose to perform, but instead freaked out and barricaded herself in her room with her two bodyguards.” said the source. “She screamed from behind the door,”There are too many celebs in the crowd!”

The star-studded gala of 700 assembled guests, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art featured musical icons Mick Jagger, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez and many others.

Gaga whose hits include Just dance and Poker Face, was overwhelmed and got a severe case of stage fright.
After much hand-wringing, Oprah who co-hosted the event was called in for an intervention.

“Security guards unlocked the door to Gaga’s room. Oprah entered and instructed everyone to hold hands including Gaga and her two bodyguards. Then she lead everyone in a prayer session in the dressing room.” said the source.

Gaga who had a conservative catholic upbringing, was truly touched by the moment, says an insider. She was able to regain her composure, left the dressing room and thrilled the crowd by performing four songs.

There has been a few instances where Gaga has lost control of her emotions since becoming famous.

In January, paramedics rushed backstage at one of her concerts in West Lafayette, Indiana, after she collapsed moments before the show. She was warned by doctors about the risk of serious respiratory problems and was forced to scrap concerts on the US leg of her Monster Ball tour.

“I have been crying for hours, I feel like I let down my fans tonight. I am so devastated.” She wrote on Twitter, after the incident.

In February after snapping three Brit awards–she had been scheduled  to perform a medley of her greatest hits but did not want to leave her dressing room.

Then at last minute the star turned her performance into a sombre tribute to her favourite fashion designer Alexander McQueen who had died five days earlier.
